DARYLE MOFFATT

Why I am running for Council

  1. I bring a strong financial background to the Council table - I am an experienced Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), who operates a tax practice serving individuals and small businesses across the West Parry Sound District and the GTA
  2. I also bring proven Council experience having served as a Township of Seguin Councillor from 2018 to 2022
  3. There is only one wallet - I will advocate for fair taxation and fiscal responsibility with your tax dollars

"Your Voice at the Carling Township Council Table"

Advocate for Fair Taxation and Fiscal Responsibility

  1. Carling needs data and metrics to make informed decisions because every municipal choice has financial implications for all residents
  2. Seguin Township Finance Committee, appointed in 2014, served until elected as Councillor in 2018. The Finance Committee reviews and provides input on the Township’s annual budget and long-term financial objectives and carries out special projects of a financial nature at the request of Council, including operational and performance analysis
  3. Community Leadership: West Carling Association Board of Directors, Co-President from 2022- 2023. Muskoka Watershed Council Board of Directors, Treasurer, 2021 – 2024. Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Associations (FOCA) Board of Directors, Treasurer, 2017 – 2023 and current member of the FOCA Road Issues Advisory Group. Otter Lake Ratepayers’ Association Board of Directors, Treasurer, 2014 – 2018
  4. Currently on the Long Branch Neighbourhood Association Board of Directors as its Treasurer

While serving as a Township of Seguin Councillor and Proudly Representing Ward 1

  1. I created and distributed a regular eNews newsletter to keep residents informed about township and regional activities, ensuring everyone stayed connected to our community
  2. I established a constituency office where residents could drop by to discuss municipal matters, including roads, waste management, and public safety
  3. I regularly engaged with residents through face-to-face meetings, email, telephone calls and online surveys to gather vital input on Council agenda items

I do not make promises that I cannot keep, but I will promise to do my best and exceed your expectations as a Councillor and work with others at the Council table and the Township of Carling staff to bring township services to its residents.
